55,000m2 Application of "Comfortfloor" in Belgian Hospital
Mc Loughlin Industrial Flooring recently completed the final stage of a 55,000m2 project at the AZG Hospital in Kortrijk, Belgium. Working with main contractor Jan De Nul / BAM Europe, Mc Loughlin Flooring installed a 2.5mm self-smoothing polyurethane system to wards, corridors, operating theatres, public areas and private rooms.
The majority of the installation was applied to a concrete screed and comprised the standard "Comfortfloor" build-up of primer, scratch coat and self-smoothing topping with final matt seal coat. Substantial areas however, received an additional base layer of rubber matting sealed with resin porefiller. The project was completed in phases throughout a one year period and included a lot of detail works such as joint treatment, crack stitching with helical steel reinforcement, working around gullies, channels and mechanical joints.
