Decorative Epoxy Flake Flooring at Beaumont Hospital

The new Acute Psychology Unit at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin was completed during the first quarter of 2017. Working with main contractor J.J. Rhatigan Limited, Mc Loughlin Industrial Flooring installed Rinol "Exquisit" decorative epoxy flake to a 1,500m2 area. The system was installed in public areas, treatment rooms, corridors, nursing stations, toilets and private wards. Mc Loughlin Industrial Flooring Limited is the appointed distributor and sole approved applicator of Rinol materials in Ireland and the UK.


Comprising primer, scratch coat, base layer with decorative flake, seal coat and final polyurethane sealer, the works were completed within a tight programme. Substantial quantities of integral coved skirting were also installed throughout. Initial detail works included crack stitching with helical steel reinforcement, working around gullies and channels and introducing movement joints in some areas.
